Enrichment
classes, tuition, home work, extra curriculum, assessment books… can
you relate to all these as a parent? I sure do. Here, I would be sharing
some of my favourite links and activity learning sheets created by
myself for preschoolers. Feel free to make use of these materials for
home-schooling your little ones.
As a
parent of a preschooler myself, I would be interested to look out for
activity and learning books that have bright colors, interesting
pictures, and easy to understand content. Preschoolers can absorb short
contents and simple sentences better than long, complicated ones.
Recently, my child has started on this series of books (teachers @ work)
and enjoyed them a lot.
What I find good about the book is on the
simple instructions on each page that helps my child to develop the
habit to read and understand before attempting the activities. As shown,
the same sentence “Subtract and write the correct number in each box”
appears on each page. To reinforce learning, I got my child to always
read the sentence first, and let her tell me what she she needs to do.
The focus here is on the common words like “subtract” and “write”.
Hence, she would do the necessary counting to derive the answer, then,
proceed to write the answer in the box given.
Through simple reinforcements like this
at home with the child, the child not only gains knowledge on counting,
but also develop the ability to read and understand simple instructions.
As much as me and my child loving this
series of books, I am conducting a spree for parents who are interested
to get them for your child. The 2 recommended series are teachers@work and rainbow series.
Kindergarten One
Kindergarten Two
The books are sold individually at SGD $6.00 each. Mailing charges
excluded. If you are keen to purchase, leave me a message. The spree is open to residents in Singapore only.
Thank you!
Love
BeezMom Serene
